About Us
Hi everyone! My name is Glenn, the new owner of Silverbrook Farm Inc. I am very excited to have the opportunity to carry on this long-lasting tradition of U-catch in Abbotsford. I caught my first fish at Silverbrook with my grandpa and brother when I was 4 years old. Check the (left side) picture! Check the 30 years later picture, again with grandpa!
I hope to help facilitate some of these cherished memories to more families. I grew up locally (Cloverdale) and spent most of my summers at my Grandparent’s cabin in Point Roberts. Cabin life helped me fall in love with playing in the dirt, climbing trees, catching crabs/fish in the ocean and I naturally developed a love for the outdoors.
When school ended I spent a couple of summers forest firefighting before finding a career as an arborist. After 6 enjoyable years of climbing trees for a living, I decided it was time to switch to a different outdoor type business and I landed here. I look forward to helping the community find a convenient way to connect to the outdoors. I am of course speaking about the kids, but people of all ages sometimes need a reminder of just how good a day outside can be. Now that you know a bit more about me, I hope to learn a bit more about you. Come by the farm and say hi!
After 2 Years: Update!
Hey everyone—thank you so much for all the support over the past couple of years. As time has gone on, I felt it was worth adding a little more to this section.
Bringing this farm back to life has been a huge undertaking. When we started, there was a lot to rebuild—physically, financially, and emotionally. While we’re not quite at the point where we can say the business is fully “set for success,” there’s no question that over the past two years we’ve shifted the scales tremendously. What once felt fragile now feels solid, growing, and full of momentum. We’re incredibly proud of the progress made so far, and we fully expect to be able to confidently stamp this farm and business as successful by the end of this year.
This journey has been nothing short of amazing. Our family truly feels connected to the community, and the encouragement and support we’ve received have meant more than we can express. None of this would be possible without the people who show up, lend a hand, and believe in what we’re building.
A huge shoutout to our amazing team:
Mike – Lead Farm Hand
Sandi – Glenn’s mom and Camp Counsellor
Melissa – Lead Head Camp Counselor
Courtney – Glenn’s wife and the ever-important Good vs. Bad Idea Filter
I’d also like to sincerely thank everyone who takes the time to visit us regularly. Many of you have become friends, and seeing your continued support is what makes all of this feel truly worthwhile.
To Be Continued….
